Bathroom Project One
The Client’s Brief
Mr & Mrs W wanted a nice, low maintenance bathroom with some cupboard space, a bath and separate shower. They also wanted to make the most of the space available as the ceiling was sloping and fairly low at one side.
The Welham Solution
Wet wall paneling was used as a very attractive, low maintenance alternative to tiles (some of the laminate wall panel ranges are 100% waterproof). Beneath the lower end of the sloped ceiling was the optimal place for the bath, leaving the full height ceiling to allow for the shower. We also created a granite seat feature, which is not only useful to perch on but also very handy for shampoos etc. The addition of the seat also increased space within the shower cubicle. The plastic ceiling and Karndean flooring added to the low maintenance effect.
Installation
We removed the old bathroom, as always we loaded this into the van to dispose of back at the factory (no unsightly skips). In this instance, it was fairly straight forward as there were no tiles to remove. Our fitters then got to work creating the bathroom you see. It took just over four days to complete.
